Through six games, the Patriots have yet to witness the star capabilities of A.J. Brown.

Primarily, that's due to the former Eagles star's ankle injury, missing four games after exiting in Week 1 against the Seahawks. Brown has been trying to get back to 100% since, making his return against the Jets in Week 6.

After Brown dealt with drop issues against New York, though, he has yet to emerge as Drake Maye's go-to target as anticipated. One Patriots wideout thinks a long-awaited Brown breakout is coming on Thursday night.

Here's what DeMario Douglas predicted about Brown for Week 7.

DeMario Douglas Makes Bold A.J. Brown Prediction for 'TNF' vs. Bears

The Patriots are coming off a short practice week to take on the Bears, one of the NFC's best teams on both sides of the ball so far. It will be no easy task for a New England squad, dealing with injuries on its offensive line, to leave Soldier Field in Chicago with a win.

If it's going to happen, Brown will likely be an X-factor. Douglas thinks his fellow wide receiver is in for a breakout performance against the Bears.

"I can't wait," Douglas said of Brown having a big night against Chicago, per Doug Kyed. "I know it's due."

Last week, Brown had multiple key drops despite being targeted by Maye 10 times, unable to spark the connection New England hoped would lead the offense this season. There's plenty of time left in 2026 for the two to get on the same page, though.

With six 1,000-yard seasons to his name, Brown has consistently been one of the NFL's best wide receivers in his career. At some point, he's bound to have a big game — and a prime-time matchup in Chicago would be a perfect opportunity.
