At 4-2, the Green Bay Packers are tied with the Chicago Bears for second place in the NFC North. The duo are a game and a half behind the Minnesota Vikings at 5-0. Riding a three-game winning streak, the Packers will travel to Detroit to take on the Lions in a divisional clash. The Lions are right behind Green Bay at 3-2. They’ll also be fresh, coming off a bye week. While the Pack prepares for a pivotal matchup, they received an update on star edge rusher Micah Parsons. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter on the Pat McAfee Show, Parsons is still at least a couple of weeks away from returning. McAfee shared Schefter’s report via X, formerly Twitter.
“I was told that Micah Parsons wasn’t close to playing against the Dallas Cowboys,” Schefter said on the show. “They haven’t opened up his practice window yet, and I’m not anticipating that right now.”
Schefter went on to state that Parsons likely wouldn’t be back until at least early next month. His knee injury has kept him on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list the entire season. While it would have been quite the storyline if Parsons returned this past Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, his former team, his 21-day practice window still has not opened up. Before the ex-Cowboy can make his return, that window must open up.

With a pivotal Sunday afternoon tilt against the Lions approaching, it sounds as if Parsons will continue his stint on the PUP. If Schefter’s timeline is correct, the earliest the Packers would get Parsons back could be in New England against the Patriots on November 8th. Green Bay’s bye is two weeks after that. It feels more likely that the former first-rounder will return against the Los Angeles Rams in a primetime matchup on Thanksgiving Eve. In any case, the sooner the Pack gets Parsons back, the better. Their postseason hopes may depend on it.
