Harry Kane will be coming back to Säbener Straße ahead of a busy run of fixtures for Bayern Munich after a solid international break with England. From the Three Lions’ four UEFA Nations League matches, which were all wins bar the 3-2 loss to Spain at Wembley, Kane tallied six goals, having scored in all four of the matches. He wasn’t really given too much of a rest by Thomas Tuchel, but the striker had said he wanted to play as much as possible despite the Nations League largely beng considered glorified friendlies.

Thankfully, from a Bayern perspective, Kane came away from the international break unscathed, which Vincent Kompany will certainly be pleased about ahead of a packed rest of the month for the German Rekordmeister. Their urn of matches across the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League ends with the season’s second installement of der Klassiker at Borussia Dortmund and includes tricky tests against the likes of Arsenal, Augsburg, SC Freiburg, and RB Leipzig.

Nonetheless, despite a plethora of minutes under his belt already this season, Kane doesn’t yet see an end in sight despite being 33 years of age and he just equaled Peter Shilton’s all-time appearance list for England, having made his 125th appearance in the 3-0 over Czechia at Wembley. He’s reportedly getting closer to extending his contract with Bayern through 2029, at which point he would be 36.

For Kane, though, age is just a number right now and he’s still ready to try to improve upon what was an absolutely sensational 2025/26 campaign chalk full of records broken.

“125 caps? Beyond my wildest dreams. I hope there’s still more to go. I guess only time dictates that. I still feel like I’ve got room to improve. I’ve just come back off my best season ever at 32 years old and right now I feel in an even better place. I’m not going to stop. I’m going to keep pushing and see where it takes me. Maybe in 10 years or so, we’ll see where that ceiling is at,” Kane told ITV after the win over Czechia on Tuesday evening in London (via @iMiaSanMia).

Robert Lewandowski showed that it’s certainly possible to achieve greatness at the top level well after the age of 30, and Kane’s predecessor at Bayern was 33 when he made the move to Barcelona. Both strikers are rarely ever injured and are pushing the boundary of what age constitutes being well past their prime, and Kane is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
