The OHSAA girls soccer tournament is approaching.

Let's start with some initial thoughts on the brackets:
- Keep your eyes on Region 11. In the Northeast 1 district, No. 2 Aurora and No. 12 Field sit on opposite sides of the bracket. The Falcons and Greenmen already played a thriller earlier this season with Aurora scoring the game-winner with roughly 10 minutes remaining. Of course, obstacles loom prior to such a match. Indeed, Field would likely have to face a very good Louisville team, the seventh seed, in the district semifinals. Whoever wins Northeast 1 could end up facing No. 4 Roosevelt in a regional semifinal. Of course, the Rough Riders have their own tough road to walk, including potential clashes with Howland in the district semifinals and longtime power Revere in a district title game.
- On the small-school side, Waterloo put together an awfully hard schedule for a Division V team. Whether that pays off will be tested early. The 11th-seeded Vikings could face conference rival Crestview in the sectional finals and an 11-2 Grand Valley team in the district semifinals.
