DeBoer, of course, is the successor of legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban, who recently broke down how his wife, Terry Saban, helped play a role in his coaching success.
“She always told me what I needed to hear. Not what I wanted to hear and that was very helpful in terms of me being able to improve,” he said, per College Gameday on X, formerly Twitter.

Terry Saban, affectionately known as “Miss Terry,” has indeed been a rock for Nick Saban, who has never been shy about sharing his appreciation for her throughout his career and continuing now in his time as an analyst.
Saban won six national championships during his legendary career as the Alabama head coach, and DeBoer is still looking for his first, as the Crimson Tide are currently experiencing their longest championship drought in over 20 years.
The Crimson Tide have looked strong so far this year with Keelon Russell as the starting quarterback, although Saturday’s game against Georgia will present a much more difficult test than any of the opponents they’ve faced so far.
In any case, kickoff between Alabama and Georgia is slated for Saturday evening at 7:30 pm ET from Tuscaloosa, with the game being carried by ABC.
