IndiGo had revised its fuel charges on October 5, with the new rates applying to all bookings made from 12.01 am on October 6, 2026.
The airline attributed the revision to a sharp increase in ATF prices and recent geopolitical developments in West Asia, which have pushed aviation fuel costs to among their highest levels in the past decade.
“The continuous rise in the fuel prices, with the latest month-on-month increase exceeding 14%, has taken ATF costs to levels that are amongst the highest in the last decade,” IndiGo said in a statement.
Under IndiGo’s revised structure, domestic passengers travelling up to 500 km will pay ₹375 as a fuel charge. For flights covering 501 km to 1,000 km, the charge will be ₹600, while journeys between 1,001 km and 1,500 km will attract a surcharge of ₹900.
Passengers flying between 1,501 km and 2,000 km will pay ₹1,150, while flights covering more than 2,000 km will carry a fuel charge of ₹1,300.
