"Damon (Wilson) has really grown in our systems, and there's a lot more that's going to be coming from him here in the next couple of weeks," Miami coach Mario Cristobal said on Wilson. "So we're eager for the next (game)."

Wilson is coming off a nine sack season with Missouri and is playing well for No. 4 Miami. The Hurricanes are 5-0 and look like the top team in country. Miami is looking to return to the College Football Playoff after suffering national championship heartbreak last season.

Wilson was ranked as one of the top transfers in the country and is projected as a second-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft, per Tankathon. So far, Wilson is living up to the first-team All-ACC honors he earned in the preseason. Miami has a bye this week before playing their in-state rivals, Florida State.
