On Monday evening, theNew Orleans Saints fell to 1-3 on the 2026 NFL season with an ugly home loss to the rival Atlanta Falcons in primetime. The Saints got behind the eight ball early in this one and never fully recovered, ultimately falling by a final score of 45-24.

One person who was dismayed by what he saw from the Saints was former New Orleans defensive star Terron Armstead, who took to social media to relay his thoughts.

“I be on TV talking so much s**t about them Dirty Birds and they just shut me the hell up,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, alongside a picture of himself with the viral Crying Jordan meme photoshopped in.

Armstead wasn’t the only Saints fan or former player to talk some smack heading into this matchup, which features one of the most bitter rivalries in the NFL, but the game on the field was largely uncompetitive, as the Falcons took a 7-0 lead less than two minutes in thanks to a long touchdown sprint from running back Bijan Robinson, and were essentially in control of things the rest of the way from there.

Meanwhile, the Saints have now dropped their first two home games of the season and sit at 1-3, with the good vibes from their recent road win over the Baltimore Ravens now completely erased.

The Saints’ injuries on defense were clearly too much for the team to overcome on Monday night, with the team missing multiple linebackers, although perhaps even more concerning was New Orleans’ complete inability to get anything going in the running game on offense.

In any case, the Saints will next hit the field on Sunday for a home game against the Minnesota Vikings.
