Thrilling Indiana high school football game marred by postgame shooting in parking lot

· Yahoo Sports

The biggest high school football game in Indiana was played on the far east side of Indianapolis on Friday night, Oct. 2, as Warren Central played host to the Lawrence North Wildcats.

It was a game that ultimately lived up to the hype as the Warriors ended a five-game losing streak to the Wildcats, winning an offensive 53-37 showcase that kept them unbeaten on the season.

Unfortunately, the result of the contest would only be the second biggest story of the night.

Not long after the game went final and fans were pouring out to their cars, the IndyStar, part of the USA TODAY Network, reported the Indianapolis Metro Police Department had responded to a shooting on the school's campus.

The IndyStar noted that there were two juveniles found on the scene with gunshot wounds and each were transported to a local hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Richard Torres was on the scene reporting for the IndyStar Friday night and captured audio of the gunshots as he was talking to Warren Central running back and Iowa commit Keyon Thomas after the game.

The shooting happened in the parking lot just outside of the stadium's entrance.

According to the IndyStar, players and coaches from both teams were told to wait inside their locker rooms until police officers cleared them to leave the stadium.
