Among the most surprising teams in the NFL this campaign, the Las Vegas Raiders are at the top of that list. Looking at the Raiders roster, there's a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, but to say anyone would have thought this team was 3-0 would be a lie.
The Raiders have done exactly what they needed to do on both sides of the ball, and there have been some very impressive signs that suggest things will continue.
For Las Vegas, much of the talk will center on what the future at quarterback looks like, including whether Fernando Mendoza gets a chance to play as soon as possible.
Until Kirk Cousins slows down, which it doesn't seem like that's going to happen anytime soon, there's not much of a reason to play him. As for how that could change, one injury or something else going wrong could eventually become the problem.
The Raiders have decent weapons in their offense, but it still feels like they can do more on that side of the ball in terms of talent.
Looking for ways to improve that, Bleacher Report recently suggested that Marvin Harrison Jr., who has struggled a good bit with the Arizona Cardinals, could be an option.
“Arizona probably won't want to move Harrison at that price point, but he should relish the prospect of a fresh start. Unless something changes dramatically, Harrison risks being labeled a disappointment for as long as he remains with the Cardinals. He's not going to establish himself as a true No. 1 receiver in Arizona either.
“Landing with a team that lacks a true top option could be Harrison's best bet for reestablishing his NFL stock. Ideal Landing Spots: Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers,” Bleacher Report wrote.
Bringing in a guy like Harrison would make a lot of sense for the Raiders, even if it doesn't really benefit the rest of this season.
Obviously, trading for a player of Harrison's caliber would bring a lot of hope that he'll figure things out and somehow help the Raiders right now.
However, there's also an argument that Vegas could rely on him when Mendoza eventually gets the starting job. That duo would be electric if both players live up to their hype.
