UPDATE

Yeah… it’s an ACC game in October. The weather has took a turn and things will be a little wet, a little windy, and we may even see a little lightning. Prepare the hot dogs.

Notre Dame is set to play its first ACC game of the season on Saturday when they travel to Tobacco Road to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels inside Kenan Stadium. We will be in the month of October come Saturday, and that should raise an eyebrow or two.

Notre Dame has had some more than interesting weather for its southeast coast football games in the month of October, and Saturday’s game is sitting on a fine line early in the week.

This is a noon game, and if the weather forecast holds up, the game (and the tailgating) should remain mostly dry (kind of… maybe).

The morning looks like it will be quite warm, and with the sunshine and 79% humidity, it will feel more like August in South Bend than October. At any rate… it should be really good tailgating weather.

As far as the game itself, the threat of a thunderstorm will slowly creep up on fans in Chapel Hill. It’s going to start raining at some point during the game, and should continue on for a few hours after it wraps up.

If you’re traveling to the game, prepare accordingly — attire and for the possibility of lightning delays.
