AFCON 2027 Qualifiers: Matchday two results

The second matchday of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers delivered four different outcomes. Equatorial Guinea, DR Congo and Burkina Faso secured victories, while Tunisia and Botswana played to a 2-2 draw.

The results came as teams continued their push for qualification to the tournament in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in June 2027. Every point becomes important in these qualifiers.
EQUATORIAL GUINEA, DR CONGO AND BURKINA FASO WIN AFCON 2027 QUALIFIERS
Equatorial Guinea secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Sierra Leone to collect an important three points. The result gives Equatorial Guinea a positive outcome from Matchday 2, while Sierra Leone were left without a goal in the encounter.
DR Congo also claimed an away victory after beating Zimbabwe 2-1. The Congolese side showed enough quality to secure all three points despite Zimbabwe finding the back of the net.
Burkina Faso completed the winning results with a 1-0 victory over Central African Republic. The tight scoreline reflected another closely contested qualifier, but Burkina Faso ultimately walked away with the points.
TUNISIA AND BOTSWANA SHARE FOUR GOALS
The biggest scoreline of the day came in the clash between Tunisia and Botswana. The two teams produced an entertaining 2-2 draw, with both sides finding the net twice.
The result means Tunisia and Botswana had to settle for a point each after an evenly contested encounter.

- Central African Republic 0-1 Burkina Faso
- Tunisia 2-2 Botswana
