Assam: CJP convenor Ashutosh Ranka, nearly 30 volunteers detained by police

The Cockroach Janta Party political campaign on Sunday said that its convenor Ashutosh Ranka and nearly 30 volunteers were detained by the Assam Police ahead of a meeting in Dispur.
On social media earlier in the day, Ranka shared a video showing a volunteer of the campaign on his way to the meeting – which was to be held at a private property – being detained in a police vehicle.
“The entire road leading to the meet-up site has been barricaded from both sides,” said Ranka. “Assam Police in ready with tear gas.”
He also alleged that no one was being allowed to reach the site of the meeting and asked Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma why he was “so scared” of the Cockroach Janta Party.
