Patriots final Week 3 injury report: Good news, bad news vs. Jaguars

· Yahoo Sports

The New England Patriots released an injury report the size of a novel on Friday.

It has been a bad run of luck for the team through two games with multiple players either playing hurt or sidelined with injuries. The bad news for the team is most of those injuries have occurred at edge rusher, which is one of the weakest positions on the roster.

They came into the season without Harold Landry III, who led the team in sacks last year. In last week's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, they lost both Dre'Mont Jones and Quintayvious Hutchins to injuries. The two edge defenders have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, with Hutchins going on injured reserve.

The Patriots have placed 16 players in total on injured reserve this year.

Now that the bad news is out of the way, there is some good news for New England. Cornerback Carlton Davis III was once again a full participant at practice and looks ready to return after missing Week 2. Safety Craig Woodson was a limited participant at practice and has a legitimate shot at playing on Sunday.
