Cyclist sought for Scarborough sex assault; woman stabbed at Stoney Creek mall

Police are seeking help from the public in identifying an elderly male cyclist accused of a sexual assault in Scarborough’s north end.

Toronto Police said officers responded to a sexual assault call on Saturday at about 3:20 p.m. in the McNicoll Ave.-Birchmount Rd. area, where an unknown male riding a bicycle approached the victim.
Police said the victim was then sexually assaulted before the suspect fled on his bike.
He is about 60 to 70 years old with a tanned complexion, short black hair and thick, bushy eyebrows. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, black shoes and a black jacket and was riding a black bicycle with a dark milk crate attached to the back.

Cops probe stabbing near Stoney Creek mall
A 45-year-old woman is in serious condition after a suspected “random” stabbing on Thursday morning at a Stoney Creek mall.
Hamilton Police responded to the incident at Eastgate Square in the Centennial Pkwy.-Queenston Rd. area after a woman was attacked from behind while sitting on a bus terminal bench at about 8:15 a.m.
Police said the woman was reading a book when she was stabbed and that the interaction was brief. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.
The victim was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Cops have yet to receive a complete description of the suspect, but said they believe he was wearing a black T-shirt and dark pants. They said he may have been wearing a backpack as well.
“At this time, this incident is believed to have been an unprovoked, random attack,” police said in a statement.
