SMU's Kevin Jennings Praises 'Good Response' After Louisville Nightmare

The SMU Mustangs would have lamented their shortcomings in the 41-31 loss to Louisville, but Rhett Lashlee's team can't dwell on it.
Football moves fast, and with Missouri State next on the calendar at home, the Mustangs have to move on quickly from the loss to the Cardinals.

There were so many unforced errors, with a fumble, interceptions, and being stopped on fourth-down twice; it was a disjointed game for SMU.
But the good thing about football is that you get another chance the following week to correct all of the things that went wrong in the game.
And it starts in practice.
For Mustangs quarterback Kevin Jennings, when asked how the team is doing after the loss to the Cardinals, he gave a response that fans will love.
"Yeah, it's been a good response," Jennings said. "I think yesterday, we got in, got the work done. Today, got in, got the work done. So, it's been really good. We know we got a long season ahead of us, and one game's not going to determine our season. So, you know, it's time to go to work and put our head down."
So that is what you want, at least right now.
All the Mustangs can do is put their heads down and get to work in order to put together a good game plan for the Bears, and then go out and execute it.
Of course, right now, all the Mustangs can do is talk, and fans rightly so want to see action on the field.
We know this team can become one of the best in the ACC, but last week was a major road bump, and how Lashlee gets his team to respond is going to be an interesting watch.

They did a lot right against Louisville, but also a lot wrong.
And at least, according to Jennings, the response to a game with so many self-inflicted wounds has been exactly what you'd hope for.
