2027 NFL Draft: Updated QB rankings following Week 3 of CFB

Each week during this season of college football, we will be posting updated quarterback rankings for the 2027 NFL Draft. We are doing so because, barring an unforeseen change in how the Browns play the position, they'll be in the market for one come April.

To their benefit, the quarterback class is shaping up to be one of the better ones in recent memory, at least since 2024.
We will provide a top-five ranking, with players just on the outside looking in. This group already looks good after just one week, but it's only been one week. Deeper analysis will come later, so this is a more reactionary take with some added reasoning for their placement.
With the stage set, here is how things look after Week 3 of the college football season.
Just Missed the Cut:
- Drake Lindsey, Minnesota
- Julian Sayin, Ohio State
- CJ Carr, Notre Dame
5. Dante Moore, Oregon
Week 1: 19-23 passing, 280 passing yards, and four touchdowns
Dante Moore took care of business against Portland State, but he was expected to. He needs to rebuild his image in terms of being a top prospect after the Oklahoma State game. He remains a good quarterback prospect, but he needs to be able to show the NFL he can take over games instead of just being a part of them. He started as the QB1 for me at the start of the season, can he climb back up?
4. Drew Mestemaker, Oklahoma State
Week 1: 20-22 passing, 324 passing yards, and five touchdowns
Drew Mestemaker has seemingly woken up since the Week 1 stinker he had against Tulsa. He played Murray State in a game that he was expected to play well in, so like Moore, there is not a whole lot to take away from it. Going forward, though, if he is able to keep these types of performances up he could rise up the rankings a bit more.
3. Darian Mensah, Miami (FL)
Week 1: 30-34 passing, 220 passing yards, and three passing touchdowns
Darian Mensah has been playing out of his mind and beyond expectations, but he isn't taking many chances. On top of it all, he isn't playing the toughest schedule right now. He has some tough matchups to keep an eye on in the coming weeks, but for now it is hard for him to get much higher.
2. Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss
Week 1: 33-48 passing, 363 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception
I REALLY wanted to put Trinidad Chambliss at QB1 this week, but I couldn't do it. In reality, there is zero reason he shouldn't be there other than his size, but he showed again that he doesn't play like someone his size usually does. The mobility and athletic playmaking he does with his legs and arms just make him so hard to contain. He heads into The Swamp in Week 3, and if he looks the part in a tough road game...he may be QB1 next week.
1. Arch Manning, Texas
Week 1: 17-33 passing, 164 passing yards, and two touchdowns
Arch Manning showed a lot in the second-half comeback against Ohio State, and some of that hangover is why he remains QB1. Against UTSA this weekend, he did not take care of business the same way that others have shown they can against lesser competition. He had some nice NFL-level throws, but he needs to be able to put togetehr some insane numbers against lesser competition anf throughout his career he just hasn't. In Week 4, he will be on the road against Tennessee and it could make or break his QB1 stock.
