Drew Lock Fantasy Week 2 Start or Sit: No Utility Outside of DFS
· Yahoo Sports
Lock takes over in Seattle with Sam Darnold (muscle strain) sidelined, and he checks in 28th among quarterbacks in PFN’s Week 2 rankings for this trip to Arizona. He came off the pine Wednesday night to complete 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards and a score. I don’t doubt he can be efficient, but outside of a niche game-theory angle, there’s no utility here.

Lock came off the pine on Wednesday night to complete 16-of-22 passes for 187 yards and a score against the Patriots, not a bad showing for a player who threw three passes last season.

Sam Darnold (muscle strain) will miss this week at a minimum, and it is worth noting that he averaged 11.1 yards per pass against the undermanned Cardinals a season ago (420 yards on 38 passes).
I don’t doubt that Lock can be efficient, but volume is always going to be an issue for the QB and any pass catcher not named Jaxon Smith-Njigba in Seattle. If you’re trying to get ultra-cute in a late-swap situation in a winner-take-all DFS contest (Dak Prescott is going to garner a ton of ownership in that late window), you might be able to sell me on the game-theory angle, but outside of that very niche run out, there’s no utility here.
