Saints announce practice squad elevations for Week 2 Ravens matchup

In preparation for their Week 2 game at the Baltimore Ravens, the New Orleans Saints made two practice squad elevations. On Saturday, the Saints elevated wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. and long snapper Scott Daly to their active roster to suit up against Baltimore. Both moves are standard weekly elevations.

Austin was also an elevation for the season opener at the Detroit Lions. He'd see five offensive snaps with no targets along with one additional snap on special teams. Austin will be the fifth receiver for the Saints against Baltimore, with rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) still on injured reserve. He'll join Chris Olave, Devaughn Vele, Bryce Lance, and Barion Brown. Austin has 24 career receptions for 291 yards and 1 touchdown in 16 games over the previous two seasons, all with New Orleans.
Daly was signed by the Saints earlier this week. His elevation to the active roster was expected. Daly was signed to take the place of 10-year veteran Zach Wood, who will be sidelined for several weeks with a calf injury. Sunday will be the first game Wood will miss in his career.
Also earlier this week, New Orleans promoted undrafted rookie running back CJ Donaldson from the practice squad to the active roster. Donaldson played 15 offensive snaps and 20 on special teams last week at Detroit. Lining up as both a traditional fullback and single back, he caught a pass for a loss of two yards and carried twice for 4 yards.
