Kickoff between the Vols and Longhorns at Neyland Stadium is slated for noon EDT. ABC will televise the SEC matchup in Week 4.
Ahead of Week 4, Nolan Analytics projects Texas to defeat Tennessee, 27-24. ESPN's Matchup Predictor also projects the Longhorns having a 76.3% chance to win at Tennessee.
Texas leads the all-time football series, 2-1, against the Vols with all games being contested on New Year's Day in the Cotton Bowl.
Texas won, 36-13, on Jan. 1, 1969 and, 16-0, on Jan. 1, 1953. Tennessee defeated the Longhorns, 20-14, on Jan. 1, 1951 in the first game of the series.
No. 14 Tennessee (2-0) will play Kennesaw State (1-1) on Saturday in Week 3 ahead of hosting the Longhorns. Kickoff between the Vols and Owls is slated for 7:45 p.m. EDT (SEC Network).
No. 1 Texas (2-0) will host UTSA (2-0) in Week 3 on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. EDT at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas (SEC Network+).
