As the Dodgers look to be as healthy as they can be for the playoffs, Wednesday’s game has featured a big blow in the form of Snell, depending on the severity of the injury.

Los Angeles took to its social media account to announce that Snell has left his start against Cincinnati on Wednesday because of “left groin tightness.”

“Blake Snell left tonight’s game due to left groin tightness,” the team wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Snell would only throw 19 pitches and one inning before being taken out of the game due to the groin issue, as relief pitcher Blake Treinen got the nod to come in the game.

“Blake Snell is out of this game after one inning and 19 pitches. Blake Treinen is your new pitcher,” Dodger Insider wrote on X.

There’s no denying that it has been a frustrating season for Snell when it comes to his health, as he started the 2026 season on the injured list to recover from shoulder inflammation. It didn’t stop there, as Snell had surgery on his elbow to remove loose bodies, eventually making his return to the mound on Aug. 11.

He’s only logged seven starts this season aside from Wednesday, recording a 1.91 ERA to go along with 51 strikeouts and a 4-1 record. At any rate, it remains to be seen if Snell’s groin tightness leads to missed time, as the Dodgers would love to have his talents during the postseason, with 10 games left in the regular season after Wednesday’s outing.
