More charges in sex assault investigation

Toronto Police have laid additional charges against a man accused of luring and sexually assaulting a person under 16 years old in June after they say they found another victim.
Kaden Charles-Robinson, 21, of Toronto, was already accused of 13 charges related to the sex assault of a teenager who he allegedly used Snapchat to lure, charges that included: Make sexually explicit material to a person under 16, publish intimate image without consent, sex assault with a weapon, make child sexual abuse and exploitation material, extortion and more.
Police say in April of 2024, Charles-Robinson started an online conversation with another underage victim using Instagram, where he persuaded the victim to send him sexual videos. They arranged to meet at a park in the area of Evans Avenue and Kipling, where the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted. Police say Charles-Robinson put a gun to the victim’s stomach and tried to put her in his car, but she got away.
Charles-Robinson now faces nine more charges that include: Sexual assault, forcible confinement, sexual interference with a person under 16, possess child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Investigators believe there are more victims and are asking the public to contact police at 416-808-7474.
Arrests made in gun probe
Toronto Police have arrested an 18-year-old and three 16-year-olds in a gun probe in the area of Yorkgate Boulevard Avenue and Finch Ave. W.
Police say officers on patrol stopped a vehicle and upon searching it found burglary tools and a loaded gun. The suspects were arrested and the tools and gun were seized.
Kwabena Ameyaw, 18, faces a number of charges including possessing a firearm, driving with a gun, and possessing break-in instruments. The three youths face similar charges. Police say anyone with more information can contact them at 416-808-3100.
Oshawa funeral home fire was arson: Police
Durham Police said a fire that damaged a funeral home in Oshawa last week was deliberately set, and they’re now searching for suspects.
Police said on Sept. 7 at around 4:05 a.m., officers had arrived at the scene of a fire at the McIntosh-Anderson-Kellam Funeral Home in the city’s downtown.
Investigators later determined the fire at the property was intentionally set.
No injuries were reported to police.

Three charged in Newmarket drug bust
Three Newmarket men are facing charges following a drug investigation, York Regional Police said Tuesday.
Cops said the investigation began earlier this month after officers received a tip that a person was trafficking controlled substances in the Newmarket area.
On Saturday, police said they executed a search warrant at a Newmarket home, where a high-powered, semi-automatic rifle and two loaded magazines were seized.
They also seized Canadian currency and a quantity of a controlled substance, believed to be cocaine, worth an estimated $25,000.
Antonio Adamo, 34, Robertino Adamo, 59, Julian Adamo, 26, have each been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and careless storage of ammunition
Antonio has also been charged with trafficking in controlled substances and possession of proceeds of crime.

Man charged after swinging bat, shouting racial slurs in Port Perry: Cops
A 38-year-old man is facing charges in a hate-motivated incident last month in Port Perry.
Durham Police said officers were called to Palmer Park on Aug. 30 after receiving reports of a man swinging a bat at people in the park.
Police said the suspect left the scene before officers arrived.
After speaking to witnesses and reviewing video footage, investigators determined that the suspect made threats while yelling racial slurs, and later identified him.
He was arrested on Thursday at his home, police said.
A search warrant was executed at the suspect’s home, and several items were seized.
Lucca Downey, 38, from Scugog, is facing several charges, including offence motivated by hatred – assault with a weapon, offence motivated by hatred – utter threats, and offence motivated by hatred – possess weapon dangerous to public.
Police released a photo of the accused as they are concerned there may other victims.
