Delhi has seen sparse but persistent monsoon showers over the past fortnight, and the city was hit by heavy rain as recently as Friday, just two days before the opener. The IMD has flagged the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall extending into September 14 as well, meaning the unsettled weather is not confined to matchday alone.
