The Chargers offense retooled and revamped like no other. The addition of Mike McDaniel is set to do wonders for the offense as a whole, and especially for Justin Herbert.
The offense for Los Angeles could be record-breaking, which would certainly make it one of the best units in the NFL. The expectations are sky-high, and if they accomplish these four feats, the Bolts will certainly be a top offensive unit.

Here are four bold predictions for the offense entering the 2026 season.
Justin Herbert throws for 4,500+ yards
It's been over three seasons since Herbert has touched 4,000 passing yards, but I believe he'll finally surpass that total this season and then some.
McDaniel should create more efficient throws, more yards after the catch, and more opportunities for Herbert to consistently attack defenses. Herbert is set to benefit greatly from McDaniel's offenses, which have historically emphasized motion, play action and creating space.
The Chargers lean heavily on 13 personnel
This is way out of McDaniel's preference, as he leans on 12 personnel, but he may have no choice but to do so with the three tight ends he has on his roster. With David Njoku, Oronde Gadsden and Charlie Kolar, McDaniel has multiple tight ends who can give him flexibility.
McDaniel also thrives on running the ball, and 13 personnel could allow Los Angeles to establish the run while creating matchup problems in the passing game.
Omarion Hampton scores 15+ touchdowns
It was an injury-riddled season for the rookie back, but expectations are sky-high for him and the run game. In Hampton's rookie season, he was held to 9 games and found the end zone four times.
Not only does Hampton find the end zone more often by a wide margin, but he blows that out of the water with over 15. The 23-year-old could benefit the most from the offense outside of Herbert.
Quentin Johnston records 1,000+ receiving yards
Many in the Chargers' building believe this is the season Johnston finally breaks through as a consistent threat. However, his athletic tools give him a great chance to thrive in McDaniel's scheme due to his size, speed and ability to manufacture yards after the catch.
Johnston's best season, yardage-wise, came in 2025 when he recorded 735 yards on 51 receptions. So predicting that he'll get over 1,000 yards for the first time this season is a tall task despite the offense projected to be elite.
