The Ligue 1 season is underway, and PSG are playing their first home game of the season tonight.
But despite that, people are still being drawn to discussions about the Ballon d’Or. Awards season for that is gradually coming into view, and campaigning has started already.
In his press conference today, PSG manager Luis Enrique joined the debate, backing one of his players to get the award.

“The Ballon d’Or should be a PSG player,” said Luis Enrique, rising to the bait of talking about the individual award.
“We have everything in the team, we’ve won the Champions League, Fabian won the World Cup too, we have Ousmane Dembélé who won it last year. So clearly for me, Ballon d’Or should be a PSG player.”
It probably will be a PSG player – but could it be one who wasn’t at the World Cup at all?
Not long ago, the point was made by Toni Kroos that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should win the award, despite Georgia not making it to the international tournament this summer.
