‘He’s a terrible leader’ – NFL fans tear into Aaron Rodgers after calling out Steelers teammate

Aaron Rodgers did not play a role on the field in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ preseason, with his practice coming behind the scenes at the facility.

The 2026 season will mark Rodgers’ final in the NFL as he brings to an end what will be a 22-year career.
Naturally, the plan will be to go out on a high by progressing on their Wild Card elimination last season.
However, there will be a lot of pressure on the Steelers’ offensive options to help Rodgers along the way.
Outside of DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. there are a number of young wide receivers, who Rodgers will need to push if the Steelers are to go far this season.
But some of his comments on 25-year-old wideout Roman Wilson have not gone down well with fans across the NFL.

After being intercepted during practice, Rodgers placed the blame on his wide receiver, Wilson, when speaking to the media.
“Roman (Wilson) made a repeat mistake. That’s a good learning experience. … Roman is a great kid. He’s had a fantastic camp. I have confidence in him. … But mistakes can happen. That’s a great one to happen in practice,” said Rodgers.
The 42-year-old’s comments have certainly not gone down well with fans of other NFL teams online.
‘Aaron Rodgers going out of his way to throw teammates under the bus 42yrs old and still wildly immature,’ replied one fan on X.
‘Whenever Rodgers struggles it is NEVER his fault,’ said another.
Rodgers ended the 2025 season with 24 touchdown passes and seven interceptions to his name as the Steelers clinched top spot in the AFC North.
The theme of Rodgers failing to take responsibility continued: ‘Something never change… it’s always someone else’s fault..’
One New York Jets fan even said: ‘I’m happy he’s not a Jet.’
Wilson’s return of 166 yards and two touchdowns from last season would suggest he is not going to be high on Rodgers’ list of targets when the season does get underway.
A Detroit Lions fan added: ‘Loser leadership’.
Whilst another NFL fan said: ‘He’s a terrible leader lol’.
