Bhopal Rehan Murder Case: Evidence Seized As Accused Move To Judicial Custody

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The accused in the murder of 16-year-old Rehan were sent to judicial custody on Saturday after their police remand ended. During interrogation and searches, police recovered the clothes, cap and other items allegedly used by the accused during the crime.

ACP Santosh Patel said police also verified the shop from where the accused had allegedly purchased the knife used in the murder and the blade used to cut the victim’s testicles.

Police have further verified the scrap dealer to whom accused Zoheb allegedly sold his Alto car after the crime for Rs 23,000. The car has reportedly been dismantled at Kabadkhana.

Police have also obtained four CCTV footages in which the accused could be seen taking the victim with them on the day of the incident.

The investigation has revealed that the accused allegedly kept the body part in the car for two days before storing it in a freezer.

Police said they were attempting to sell it for Rs 1.20 crore. Their contact with an Iranian woman and a man is also being investigated.

ACP fulfils victim’s last wish

Meanwhile, ACP Santosh Patel fulfilled Rehan’s last wish for his mother. Rehan had reportedly wanted his mother to get dentures as she had difficulty eating.

After Patel shared the matter on social media, Dr Ateeq Khan and his team came forward and examined Rehan’s mother. Her dental measurements have been taken and the dentures will be fitted soon, Patel said.
