Coleman Coliseum to receive upgrades ahead of Alabama basketball season

The home of Alabama basketball is getting an upgrade ahead of the 2026-27 season.

In a post to X on Monday, Aug. 10, Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne shared a mockup of a new videoboard in Coleman Coliseum and announced the arena will also be getting a new sound system.
"Work has begun on upgrading the center-hung videoboard and sound system in Coleman Coliseum to elevate the team and fan experience heading into the new season," Byrne wrote. "These investments are also designed with flexibility in mind, allowing them to serve our programs well into the future."
Before-and-after graphics also showed the Regions Bank signage featured on the previous videoboard in Coleman Coliseum was changed to Mercedes-Benz.

The videoboard itself was no longer circular at the top and instead square all around, featuring screens big enough to show not only the game, but stats for players on the floor as well.
Coleman Coliseum, where Alabama men's hoops will start the season on Tuesday, Nov. 3 against Sam Houston, last underwent a major transformation ahead of the 2005-06 season.
