SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Davenport held off Sioux Falls’ comeback efforts to advance 6-5 in the Little League Midwest regional on Saturday afternoon.

Kannon Kane tied the game at two runs apiece for Iowa in the top of the third and Davenport never looked back. Cooper Thissen extended the lead to four runs with a solo-home run in the fourth inning.
Gavin Hauser’s RBI double in the bottom of the sixth put South Dakota within one run, bringing the tying run to third but Iowa holds on for the win.
Sioux Falls shifts over to the elimination bracket where it will face a to-be-determined opponent on Monday at 3 p.m. in Whitestown.
