PSG Closing in on the Signing of Spain World Cup Winner

With just four days until PSG begin their 26/27 campaign against Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup, the transfer market is a hotter topic than ever.
Having already lost various players this summer, like Goncalo Ramos and Kang-in Lee, there is the hope that there will be as many bodies in the door as possible before Villa, Lens in the Trophees des Champions, and certainly before the opening Ligue 1 game against Rennes.

Well, the chances of that may be increasing. Indeed so, as it is being reported by a number of sources on Saturday afternoon (the 8th of August) that PSG are closing in on the signing of FC Barcelona forward, Ferran Torres.
French journalist Djamel reports that Torres is "nearing a move" to PSG, with the player already agreeing personal terms. Negotiations are underway between the two clubs, and Luis Enrique fully approves of his profile, and has spoken to the 26-year old. The two previously worked together with the Spain national team.
Worth noting that Djamel mentions he will be the replacement for Ramos, but that Enrique doesn't have an XI set in stone, and is not afraid to make changes if and when it is required.
Meanwhile, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto (via Reshad Rahman) also reports that the two club are in negotiations, with personal terms agreed, with the deal in the French capital to be four years.
Elsewhere, German journalist Kerry Hau has aggregated Marca's report on personal terms, whilst also mentioning that Barcelona are demanding "at least" 50 million Euros for Torres, with his agent handling the talks.
So, it feels like this will probably happen, even if that is a reasonably high figure. It feels like a sensible signing. At Barcelona, the Spaniard was a squad player, so he knows all about filling in when necessary.
For example, in La Liga last season, he started 23 games (playing 33), and scored 16 times, all non penalty goals. That said, he did register 20 big chances missed, and scored one goal in a four month period. So there is that to bare in mind too.
But overall, it feels a good signing, particularly as he already knows Enrique, as well as Fabian Ruiz too, which should make it easier for him to settle in, both on and off the pitch. Let's wait and see if the club can get it done. The Villa game will probably come too soon, and maybe Lens too, but you'd hope he can be in the door before Rennes.
