David Gabriel Georges breaks off long TD run in first preseason touch for Baylor School (Tenn.)

The recruitment of Five-Star Plus+ running back David Gabriel Georges came to a head last month as the nation’s No. 8 overall prospect committed to Tennessee.

Now, the elite Baylor School (Tenn.) star can focus solely on his senior season. That’s bad news for opposing defenses.

Baylor School is at Georgia powerhouse Buford for a Friday-night scrimmage. Gabriel Georges made his presence felt immediately. On his first touch of the night, the 5-foot-11, 220-pound broke off a 54-yard touchdown run:

Expect quite a bit of that from the Quebec, Canada native over the next few months. As a junior last fall, Gabriel Georges rushed for 1,756 yards and 27 touchdowns, leading the Red Raiders to a state title. He’s got 41 rushing scores to his name over the last two years and will be an absolute force once more in 2026.

Handling ‘DGG’ is a big enough problem for opponents, but he’s not the only weapon at Baylor’s disposal. Four-star quarterback Keegan Croucher, an Ole Miss commit, transferred in for his senior season. There’s an additional six ranked prospects on the roster, too.

Baylor enters the season as the No. 1 team in Tennessee, according to the Massey Ratings. The first game of the regular season is set for Aug. 20 against Brentwood Academy, the preseason No. 2 team in the state.

Gabriel Georges made his pledge to the in-state Vols over Ohio State on July 22. He’s one of, if not the biggest recruiting win of the Josh Heupel era.

“Violent runner who pairs high-end vision with supreme tackle-breaking ability. Measured at around 5-foot-11, 200 pounds as a junior, but looks to have added mass heading into his senior year. Extremely physically developed. Dominant runner on Friday nights, turning in a historic run of big-game performances as a junior while leading his team to a state title. Has a viscerally violent and aggressive running style. Plays with plus vision, setting up and reading blocks. A natural who can pick his way through the line of scrimmage with instincts and footwork.

…An absolute load to tackle at the second level with elite contact balance and power. Lowers his shoulder to truck ball carriers. Spins out of tackle attempts and has the balance to gather and finish runs. Has a strong stiff arm. Can hit home runs once at the second level. Rushed for 1,756 yards and 27 touchdowns averaging over 11 plus yards per carry with much of his production coming in his team’s biggest games.”
