A record-setting 550-member alumni drum corps from Phantom Regiment is set to perform during the Drum Corps International World Championship semifinals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis as the organization marks its 70th competitive season.

The performance is scheduled for Aug. 7 and will feature what organizers say is the largest alumni drum corps ever assembled in Drum Corps International history, according to a community announcement.
Alumni representing every era of Phantom Regiment have spent months preparing for the event and are traveling from across the United States and other countries to participate in the performance.
“This performance isn’t just to celebrate the history of Phantom Regiment; it also gives us a chance to celebrate the history of competitive drum corps,” said Phantom Regiment CEO Amanda Hamaker. “To know our organization has impacted and influenced so many people is truly humbling.”
Championship event draws top drum corps
The Drum Corps International World Championship will be held Aug. 6-8 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The annual competition brings together leading drum and bugle corps from across the country. Preliminary performances are scheduled for Aug. 6, followed by semifinals on Aug. 7. The top 12 corps will advance to the championship finals on Aug. 8.
According to the announcement, the alumni performance is intended to commemorate Phantom Regiment's 70th competitive season and highlight the organization's long history in the activity.
