According to a report from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, RB Leipzig has blocked a move for longtime stalwart Willi Orban, who was aiming to cash out on a big deal at Al-Diriyah FC:

However, Marcel Schäfer has blocked the transfer today following the injury to Abdoul Koné. Medical was scheduled for Monday morning, a doctor from the Saudi club had already arrived in Leipzig but will now travel back.
Orban will stay at RB Leipzig and is now set to lead the team in the Champions League under Martin Demichelis. Contract valid until 2027. Top player.

Orban is one of those foundational players for RB Leipzig that it can ill-afford to lose. With a transient roster, having a few players who can create a set of ideals and a team mentality is key. A veteran like Orban is a big piece of that.
Orban’s experience and on-field play should also be major assets for Die Roten Bullen this season.
