It's common knowledge that Aroldis Chapman previously pitched for the New York Yankees.

That adds a little bit of spice to the fact that he's now an All-Star closer to the Boston Red Sox.

It also has created curiosity about whether Chapman would ever want to play for the Yankees again.

In June, Chapman was asked about the prospect of leaving the Red Sox to join the Yankees, and this is what he told ESPN:

"What happened, happened," Chapman said. "If something like this were to happen, I believe someone from this organization should apologize first."

Chapman was referring to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman and the time he was left off a Yankees playoff roster after missing a mandatory workout. The closer believed he had permission to be away from the team then.

The controversy is four years old, and apparently a month has made all the difference, because Chapman changed his tune at the All-Star Game.

He was asked by Jon Heyman of the New York Post about those past comments, and Chapman gave a different answer.

He said he has "turned the page" and that he "no longer expects" some kind of apology from New York.

It adds a whole extra layer to the biggest rivalry in baseball.

Particularly coming out of the All-Star Break with the Red Sox on a nine-game winning streak, Chapman has a chance to show Boston just how good he still is.

There are likely still some very important games between these heated rivals to come this season. This adds just another layer to it all.
