Fernandez didn't record a goal or anything like that, but this has been a long time coming.

Fernandez is 35 years old and is originally from Guadalajara in Mexico.

He played in the Guadalajara academy, but a serious knee injury stifled his soccer career at that time.

He ended up pursuing acting in college, and he moved to London, where he found his way onto Ted Lasso.

Fernandez has also featured in a State Farm commercial with Patrick Mahomes, as well as a recent Old Spice advertisement.

This has to have been a cool moment for Fernandez after he had to leave the game due to injury.

His dreams took on a different tint. But this weekend, this sports was life once again.
