Baseball: TCU RHP Lance Davis to return for 2027 season

TCU redshirt freshman Lance Davis, who went 5-3 with a 3.71 ERA over 14 starts and two complete games in his first season with the Horned Frogs, has opted out of the 2026 MLB Draft and will return to Fort Worth. Davis, a transfer from Arkansas, struck out 51 batters and walked 17 over 80 innings pitched. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder from Jonesboro, Arkansas was named a Big 12 Pitcher of the Week twice and earned All-Big 12 Second Team.

Davis was TCU’s only pitcher to start all 14 weeks of the 2026 season. With Davis returning for the 2027 season, coach Kirk Saarloos and his staff will have one of their top arms back in the rotation. The Horned Frogs are also expected to welcome back veteran right-hander Louis Rodriguez, who missed all of this season to elbow surgery. Kade Eudy, who led the Horned Frogs in saves last year, also didn’t pitch in 2026 and should be back in 2027.
