Kaizer Chiefs have reached an agreement with Kruger United for the season-long loan of goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, according to a report by FARPost‘ top journalist Tshepo Rabothe.

The move comes after the Rwanda international failed to establish himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper following his arrival on a four-year contract in July 2024. Instead of remaining on the fringes of Fernando Da Cruz’s squad, Chiefs opted to send the 25-year-old out to gain regular first-team football.
FIACRE NTWARI LOOKS TO REVIVE CAREER AFTER KAIZER CHIEFS SETBACK
According to Rabothe, the two clubs have already finalised the loan agreement. As a result, Ntwari did not travel with Amakhosi to Spain for their pre-season tour ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The shot-stopper now joins a Kruger United side preparing for its maiden Betway Premiership campaign after earning promotion. Regular game time could provide the perfect platform for him to rebuild his confidence and rediscover the form that earned him a move to one of South Africa’s biggest clubs.
Ntwari developed through the academy of APR FC before enjoying loan spells with Intare and Marines in Rwanda. He later established himself at AS Kigali, where his consistent displays attracted interest from clubs outside his homeland.
His breakthrough came in July 2023 when he joined TS Galaxy. The goalkeeper impressed immediately, keeping nine clean sheets in 24 appearances as the Rockets secured a record sixth-place finish in the Betway Premiership.
Those performances, together with his displays for the Rwanda national team, convinced Kaizer Chiefs to sign him ahead of the 2024/25 season.
TOUGH SPELL AT NATURENA
Things did not go according to plan for Ntwari after his arrival at Naturena. He struggled for consistency during the early stages of his Kaizer Chiefs career and came under heavy scrutiny following a difficult start.
His situation worsened after a widely reported incident during the Carling Knockout, where he refused a late tactical substitution. Shoulder injuries, coupled with the strong form of Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma, further reduced his opportunities.
Eventually, Ntwari slipped completely out of the club’s plans as Amakhosi looked to free up a valuable foreign-player registration spot. The season-long loan to Kruger United now offers the goalkeeper an opportunity to restart his career and prove he still has what it takes to succeed in the Betway Premiership.
