Fenerbahce are reportedly preparing a surprise summer move for Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins. Determined to challenge city rivals Galatasaray, the Turkish Super Lig giants are targeting a marquee centre-forward to lead their ambitions for the 2026-27 campaign. Unai Emery is at Villa Park. Villa are not yet prepared to part ways with their talisman, but current financial pressures could force a sale, particularly as they look to retain highly sought-after Morgan Rogers, who is a top target for Arsenal.

Fenerbahce are prepared to offer Watkins improved terms on his current Villa Park contract, underlining their desire to bring the England international to Istanbul as he approaches the twilight of his career.
Watkins remains the focal point of Unai Emery’s high-intensity attack and is coming off a stellar season, scoring 21 goals and providing five assists in 55 appearances across all competitions. He played a key role in leading Villa to UEFA Europa League glory in May and securing a top-four Premier League finish.
For Villa, replacing a consistent goalscorer of Watkins’ calibre would require a significant outlay in the current transfer market as they prepare for a return to the Champions League.
With two years remaining on his contract, Aston Villa retain significant leverage should they enter negotiations with Fenerbahce.
The Villans are also searching for a new midfielder following Amadou Onana’s injury and were reportedly in the race for Johan Manzambi, who is now set to join Newcastle United.
Meanwhile, Watkins is currently on international duty at the World Cup, with England aiming to reach the semi-finals with a win over Norway on Saturday.
