Pulse Polio Immunization Drive Across Central Railway

Central Railway successfully conducted the Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign across all its divisions from 29.06.2026 to 03.07.2026. The drive is part of The National Pulse Polio Immunization Programme being conducted in coordination with the State Government and local Municipal authorities from 28.06.2026 to 03.07.2026. The initiative aims to ensure comprehensive immunization coverage for children in the 0- 5 years age group and strengthen the country's commitment towards a polio-free India.

Designated immunization centres were organised at stations and booths were set up with full operational readiness. Sufficient stock of Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV), cold-chain equipment, vaccine carriers, logistics support and other required materials were ensured at every booth.
Medical Officers, Nursing Officers, paramedical teams and support staff worked in close coordination to implement the programme seamlessly. Children aged 0-5 years were administered OPV at fixed booths, outreach posts and key transit locations. To ensure universal coverage, door-to-door visits were also organized to reach missed and left-out children.
A total of 9017 children were administered the Polio vaccine on Railway premises. This included 1649 children on Mumbai division, 2554 at Pune division, 1020 at Bhusaval division, 2877 at Nagpur division and 917 at Solapur division.
Senior health officials and supervisory teams conducted field inspections during the campaign to monitor adherence to guidelines, cold-chain maintenance and documentation. The entire drive was completed without any adverse events or logistical disruptions.
The Pulse Polio Immunization Programme teams have been working tirelessly to maximize coverage of all eligible children reaffirming Indian Railways' commitment to public health and the national mission of eradicating polio.
