Real Madrid, Vinicius will meet after FIFA World Cup to discuss contract negotiations -report

· Yahoo Sports

Real Madrid’s board and Vinicius Júnior will discuss a contract extension after the current FIFA World Cup, according to a report published on MARCA. The Brazilian attacker is on a expiring deal, which means that he would be free to negotiate a new contract with any club in the world next January if he doesn’t reach an agreement with Real Madrid before then.

The player wants a significant salary raise and Real Madrid haven’t been willing to match those demands, according to reports in the Spanish press. Vinicius has leverage now, as the club will want to avoid losing the Brazilian star as a free agent.
