At least one prominent player won't participate in Tuesday's WNBA Commissioner's Cup final between the Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty.

Wilson rolled her right ankle in the fourth quarter of Las Vegas’ 107-99 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday. She briefly left for the locker room, but was able to return to the game and finish with a game-high 30 points and 15 rebounds. But her status for Wednesday’s Commissioner’s Cup showdown is in doubt.
Wilson's absence Tuesday would be a blow to the Aces and for the WNBA showcase. The Aces are the reigning champions and winners of three of the last four titles. The Liberty won the franchise’s first WNBA title in 2024.
The game is a matchup of two of the league’s top five teams in the standings. And it’s slated to feature some of the game’s biggest stars, including New York’s Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu and Las Vegas’ Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young in addition to Wilson and Sabally.
Sabally left last Tuesday’s game against the Aces in Las Vegas after taking an unintentional elbow to the face from Aces forward NaLyssa Smith during a battle for a rebound. She was placed in concussion protocol Thursday and will miss a third consecutive game on Tuesday.
Sabally’s been a part-time starter in her first year with New York and has averaged 10.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
Wilson, meanwhile, continues to play at an MVP level, averaging 25.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2 blocks and 1.6 steals through 19 games. She hasn’t missed a game all season in leading Las Vegas to a 14-5 start. Her absence Tuesday would be a big blow to the Aces and to the showcase WNBA game.
