· Yahoo Sports
If you were to just look at the Boston Red Sox's record, it would be easy to assume that the club is having a bad season all over.
Boston is 11 games under .500, despite winning its third straight game against the New York Yankees on Saturday. Boston will go for a four-game sweep on Sunday at Fenway Park. Who saw that coming?

If you just look at the record, the assumption would be that this team has struggled everywhere, but that hasn't been the case. In fact, the Red Sox still have one of the best overall rotations in the game, despite the fact that Garrett Crochet is on the Injured List and Brayan Bello was demoted to Triple-A.
On Saturday, rookie Jake Bennett was incredible against Boston's biggest rival. He pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed just three base hits and one run. Also, he helped the Red Sox make a bit of franchise history. Boston now has 10 straight quality starts, which is the team's longest streak since 1988.
"Jake Bennett allowed just 1 ER over 6.1 IP against the Yankees. That is the 10th straight quality start by the Red Sox, their longest streak since 1988 and tied for the second-longest streak in team history (since ER became official in 1913)," ESPN Insights shared.

The offense has started to look better of late. If it can hold, this club could dig itself out of the massive hole it is in.
