After, Magomedov used his post-fight mic time to call for a bout with two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
“I want to fight against Israel Adesanya,” Magomedov said. “Now we are almost on same level and I hope I’m going to get the fight after this performance.”
Should Magomedov (29-7-1) get his wish, he’ll be catching Adesanya during one of the worst stretches of his storied career. Adesanya is currently on a four-fight losing streak dating back to 2023, while Magomedov has now won four of his past five fights.
Magomedov’s win was much-needed as he was coming off of a second-round submission loss to Joe Pyfer this past October. He looked determined to make an example of Oleksiejczuk, rocking him on the feet and then ending the fight on the ground 3:25 into Round 1.
