Texas A&M reportedly connected to LSU transfer pitcher

Texas A&M coach Michael Earely enters his second offseason after leading the Aggies back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the Aggies' memorable run to the College World Series during the 2024 season, only to lose to USC in back-to-back games in the College Station Regional, resulting in a quick end to an otherwise successful campaign.

Earley's future at the helm is secure, for now, but given the state of the pitching staff, ending the year with an unimpressive 5.24 team ERA, including over 90 home runs allowed, pitching coach Jason Kelley was dismissed after his second season, leading Earley to hire MLB pitching coach/coordinator Barry Enright, whose development background sealed the deal, while the shocking return of ace recruiter and associate head coach Nolan Cain placed the finishing touches on the new staff.

Needing to add an abundance of pitching talent from the transfer portal, Earley Enright, and now, Nolan Cain have successfully landed six transfer arms, including former Oklahoma LHP Trent Collier, who is coming off a national championship victory with the Sooners.

Plenty of intriguing names continue to enter the portal, now including LSU RHP Marco Paz, who is now reportedly being connected to the Aggies, as the Texas native is coming off his freshman season with the Tigers. The stats aren't impressive after finishing with a 1-4 record and 9.20 ERA, but his 40 strikeouts and elite potential are all that matter heading into his second season.

Barry Enright was primarily hired to coach up prospects with Paz's potential, and given the recent momentum, I would not be surprised if the LSU transfer becomes the next Texas A&M commit in the coming days.
