After waiting out the first round without being drafted, Duke guard Isaiah Evans was taken with the third pick of the second round of the NBA Draft by Brooklyn, and apparently traded to Minnesota.

As we’ve seen over the years, Duke players can sometimes fall to the second round and do just fine. We saw it last year with Tyrese Proctor and especially Sion James, who became a key part of the rotation for the Charlotte Hornets. Kyle Filipowski has done okay with the Utah Jazz, too.

In Minnesota, Evans will have a chance to take a lot of pressure off of Anthony Edwards, because y0u just can’t leave him open. It’s a nice opportunity for him to carve out a role with a team that has some nice talent.
