Top Alabama target reportedly narrows finalists, sets commitment date

According to Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, the Alabama Crimson Tide are reportedly among the finalists for Hayden Stepp.

The Crimson Tide are joined by California and Oregon as finalists for Stepp, per Fawcett. Stepp is also reportedly set to make a commitment decision between the three programs July 1.
At the moment, Stepp is currently considered as the nation's No. 49 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, as well as the No. 7 cornerback nationally, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Rated as a four-star recruit, Stepp is also ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the state of Nevada where he attends national powerhouse Bishop Gorman High School.
Alabama's 2027 class currently consists of 11 total commitments. One of those is a cornerback in Darrius White, a three-star prospect out of Creekside High School in Georgia.
