The Miami Marlins aren't having a bad 2026 season, as they're 36-38 on the year, and still within striking distance of a postseason spot.

But, even though things might be going better than expected, the Marlins still might trade away some players at this year's MLB trade deadline.
ESPN's Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel revealed the updated trade odds for top target Sandy Alcantara for the 2026 deadline. And these updated odds revealed the chance for a trade is up to 40%, which is good news for interested clubs.
Sandy Alcantara has 40% chance of being traded this year
"Chance of being traded: 40%," McDaniel and Passan write. "Teams are far more bullish on Alcantara this deadline than they were last time around, when the gap between the Marlins' ask and others' willingness to give up significant talent was too large to bridge."
The Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres are two teams that have been linked to Alcantara the most in the last year or so, and they're once again named as two of the best fits by Passan and McDaniel this year.
But, unlike last season, it appears the Marlins are more open to a trade of Alcantara this season. The 4.25 ERA ace isn't pitching lights-out, but he's still a solid starter worth acquiring in a trade for a pitching-needy club like the Cubs or Padres.

The former Cy Young winner is under club control through the 2027 season with a club option, and he's sure to receive a ton of interest again this season.
At 30 years old, the veteran right-hander is someone who could be dealt this summer with a 40% chance to be pitching for a new team, according to Passan and McDaniel.
There are other clubs besides the Cubs and Padres tabbed as fits for Alcantara, but those two have been the clubs most closely tied to the right-hander in the last year.
It seems as if a trade of Alcantara is more likely than ever, so fans of the Marlins, and any interested team, should pay extra-close attention to the rumors surrounding the All-Star ace this summer.
