Sixers star Tyrese Maxey back in the gym preparing for year No. 7

· Yahoo Sports

Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is the definition of a gym rat. He wants to be in the gym every single day in an effort to get 1% better, which is a motto he lives by, and it has paid off thus far. He averaged 28.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds in the 2025-26 season on his way to being named to the All-Star team for the second time in his career--first time as a starter--and was an All-NBA Third Team member.

With that being said, Maxey has yet to get past Round 2 in his career. There is still work to be done for Maxey and the Sixers. The now 7-year guard has just recently become a father to a baby girl and, for a few moments, he was able to get a break from his fatherly responsibilities to get back in the gym preparing for the upcoming season.

Maxey will be looking to get the Sixers over the hump in the coming season as they look to get Philadelphia to the same heights the New York Knicks just reached. The Knicks ended a lengthy title drought as they won the 2026 championship and it will be on Maxey and Co. to do the same in the coming seasons.
