The Vegas Golden Knights aren't going to start thinking about a trade for Dylan Larkin quite yet.

First, they're going to try to rally and win the Stanley Cup.

Once the season ends, though, they could start thinking more deeply about the Detroit Red Wings' captain.

Larkin is a high-level center who won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2026 Winter Olympics. He also has requested a trade out of Detroit.

Reports have indicated that Vegas is one of three landing spots Larkin would prefer, along with Florida and Minnesota.

Larkin has a no-movement clause in his contract, so he'd have to approve of any potential destination.

Dylan Larkin trade idea for Golden Knights

Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco broke down the possibilities and sees Larkin as available for Vegas if they send two players to Detroit in return.

The offer would be Pavel Dorofeyev and Tomas Hertl for Larkin, writes Di Marco.

"Dorofeyev, 25, blew the doors open this year, scoring 37 points and 64 points in all 82 regular season games this season to go along with 16 points in 21 games through the playoffs thus far," Di Marco writes. "A staple on the top line, Dorofeyev is in for a significant contract as he is set to become an RFA this summer. The 32-year-old Hertl has managed to stay productive in a reduced, third-line role in Vegas, finishing the regular season with 58 points in 82 games along with 14 points through 21 playoff contests. With four years left on his contract that carries an AAV of $6.75 million, it would be a way to make the money work for the Knights to acquire Larkin."

Hertl does have a three-team trade list, so it's not clear whether Vegas would be able to get his approval for such a trade.

You could see why Detroit would like this, though -- getting two top-six forwards back for Larkin could keep their roster very competitive as they look to end their playoff drought.
