The start of basketball season is still almost five months in the future, but it’s never to early to get excited about the future. Arizona women’s basketball fans have something concrete to look forward to with the release of the Big 12 conference pairings for the 2026-27 season.

The home and away slate is kind to Arizona for Becky Burke’s second season at the helm. The Wildcats will get almost all of the top teams at home.

UA will have home-and-away games with Arizona State, BYU, and Utah. The ‘Cats always play ASU twice during the regular season, but the other two teams change from year to year. Utah has been one of those teams every year since the teams moved to the Big 12 in 2024-25. This will be the second time BYU has been the third team. Colorado was the other member of the trio last year.

The Wildcats went a combined 4-2 against the Sun Devils, Cougars, and Utes in 2024-25 with both losses coming at the hands of Utah. Last year, Arizona was 1-5 against the trio, losing twice to Utah and three times to ASU with the final loss coming in the conference tournament. The Wildcats beat BYU in Tucson for their first Big 12 win under Burke.

ASU will be trying to maintain its upward trajectory under second-year head coach Molly Miller. Getting into the top half of the league would be a sign of steady progress.

The Sun Devils finished 15th in the league in 2024-25 under Natasha Adair. They improved to 10th last season after the offseason coaching change.

Utah has finished in the top half of the league standings both seasons. The Utes were sixth in 2024-25. They fell to eighth last year, but that still earned a first-round bye in the conference tournament.

Like ASU, BYU took steps forward last season under a new coach but remained in last eight of the Big 12 standings. The Cougars were 12th two years ago. They pulled themselves to ninth last year. They tied the Sun Devils with a 9-9 record but came out ahead in the tiebreaker by sweeping the season series.

UA will host Baylor, Cincinnati, Iowa State, TCU, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. All except Cincinnati finished in the top half of the league last season. Cincinnati and Texas Tech were the only two who failed to finish in the top half of the league in 2024-25, as well. The Wildcats went 0-6 against those teams last year and are 3-9 against them since joining the Big 12.

Arizona’s toughest road game will likely be at Oklahoma State. The Cowgirls lost some major contributors, but they also picked up the most significant transfer in the league when they signed former Iowa State post Audi Crooks.

The Wildcats are 0-2 against OSU since joining the Big 12. They lost by 19 points both times.

UA will also travel to Colorado, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, and UCF. The Wildcats went 3-3 against those teams in 2024-25 then followed it up with a 2-4 record last year.

UCF, Kansas, and Houston finished in the bottom half of the league standings both years. Colorado and Kansas State have alternated with CU finishing 9th in 2024-25 and KSU landing in 12th last season.

Dates, times, and broadcast information for all games will be announced at a later date.

Arizona will start the regular season at the Hall of Fame Series Opening Night. Its game against Stanford will be held on Monday, Nov. 2 at 11:30 a.m. MST in T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The rest of the nonconference schedule has not been released yet.
